Pre-Meeting Protocol
Follow this specific sequence before every call to ensure you control the frame.
Objective
"Don't Pitch. Diagnose."
Find their pain point (boredom, risk, legacy) and offer the cure.
Step 1: The "Uncommon Commonality" Hunt
Review their last 3 tweets/posts. Find ONE obscure thing you both like (a book, a philosophy, a location). Do not start with "I loved your podcast." Start with "I saw you reading [Book X]."
Step 2: The "Value-First" Drop
Send them something they need *before* asking for a call. "I saw you're looking for [X]. We just solved that at The Maker's Stay. Here is the data."
Step 3: The "Vision Brief" (Teaser)
Only send the 7-slide deck once they engage. "Since we're aligned on [Topic], I thought you'd appreciate seeing how we're productizing it."
Step 4: The "Allocation" Frame
On the call, do not ask for money. Ask for advice on *who else* should be in the round. "We are allocating our Seed Round now. Who in your network needs this deal?"
The Conversation Engine
Tactical scripts to keep you on track.
The Icebreaker Menu
The "Elephant"
"We both know hospitality is broken. I stopped complaining and built the fix."
The "Research"
"I've been applying your theory on [Topic] to a real estate asset..."
"Bridge" Questions
Stop monologuing. Ask these.
"Does that match what you're seeing in the market right now?"
"When you look at your portfolio, what's missing?"
Emergency Pivots
Use if you start rambling.
The "Reset"
"But the reason I share that is simple: We are building a machine that prints cash flow."
The "Bottom Line"
"I could geek out on philosophy all day, but let's look at the Asset Economics."
